What Is The Vortex ?
Vortex Is The World’s Most Powerful Cleaning Machine. The Vortex is an inventor’s dream of a better cleaning machine come true. The Vortex is the only mass produced mobile cleaning machine in the world capable of safely capturing wasted energy from its own engine exhaust to heat water. Additionally, the machine’s high-torque, high-efficiency power plant allows three operators to clean from one machine simultaneously, while decreasing fuel consumption by over 40% and improving textile dry times by over 47%.

Brute Power
All major textile manufacturers are in agreement that “hot water extraction with maximum moisture and residue removal” is the right way to take care of their goods. This is where brute power comes into play. More vacuum means a better clean, faster drying, faster cleaning, and much happier clients than your competition has. More vacuum means you can use more hot water in the cleaning process* and still beat the competition hands down on dry times. (Some Vortex owners have a “dry when we leave your home” policy with the help of carpet fans!)
More vacuum means more money in your pocket. There’s no two ways about it. The Vortex machine uses the largest, most powerful blower of any mass produced PTO cleaning machine in the world. From left to right the blower sizes are #3, #4, #5, and #6. The industry standard is a #4 size blower. The Vortex 7000 HAT uses a much larger, high performance #6 blower.
*Vortex owners are able to provide a method of cleaning commonly referred to as an “On Location Carpet Washing Service” by increasing the amount of water used in the cleaning process to double that of industry standard. The Vortex vacuum pump has more than enough power to recover the additional water and still provide significantly faster dry times than the competition.

The World’s Most Powerful Cleaning Machine Is Also The Quietest.
The model 7000 HAT is the only cleaning machine in the world equipped with the Tuthill “Harmonics and Attenuation Tuned” blower. The 7000 is bigger, 35% queiter, requires less maintenance and runs optimally at only 69.1% of it’s capacity ~ compared to over 85% before! Vortex is always ahead of the competition. Isn’t it time you stepped up the profitability and power of your business?
What Does The VORTEX Do?
Carpet Cleaning
The Vortex is famous for its ability to clean carpets faster, use less fuel, clean more thoroughly and require less operator muscle than any other cleaning machine in the world. And when you consider that the Vortex can run three wands for the same gallon of fuel it takes other machines to run just one, the benefit to your business and your bottom line become obvious. More clean for less cash. Even with three operators cleaning simultaneously, the Vortex will provide more vacuum and hot water than any other PTO cleaning machine can produce running only one wand! There is so much vacuum on a Vortex that owners are reporting dry times of less than 90 minutes without the use of a carpet fan. Owners that use carpet fans are able to provide a “Dry When We Leave Your Home” policy. Most Vortex owners run cleaning wands with larger water jets than industry standard that apply almost double the amount of water to the carpet. (The industry standard is a “6 jetted” wand. Vortex owners are using “12 jetted” wands.) This allows Vortex owners to provide significantly more thorough, “Fast Dry, Carpet Washing” service to their customers, and still beat their competition hands down on dry times. Cleaning carpets is an amazing experience even for seasoned veterans. Some V owners actually say it’s “fun”. It’s certainly much easier. That’s for sure.
Specialty Stone, Tile & Grout
Cleaning & Sealing Stone, tile & grout cleaning (sometimes referred to as hard surface cleaning) is quickly becoming the rave as an add-on service that compliments carpet cleaning very well. Although it requires a more specific and intensive training, it’s rewards are enormous. Specialty stone, tile & grout cleaning typically commands 2 to three times the price per square foot of carpet cleaning. $1.25 per square foot for this service is not uncommon. The Vortex is perfectly suited for stone tile and grout cleaning because the cleaning process is highly dependent on the machine’s ability to produce very hot water and at very high water pressures (900 psi to 1700 psi). Without that hot water and high pressure. you’ll find yourself using a lot of chemical and muscle to get the job done. No other cleaning machine in the world is better suited for hard surface cleaning. Some companies buy a Vortex strictly for hard surface cleaning and do not even use their Vortex to clean carpets.
Pressure Washing
The Vortex machine heat exchangers are rated @ 4000 PSI and the high pressure water pump can be ordered in either a “6.0 GPM 1750 PSI” or “4.5 GMP 3000 psi” version. Unless your business model specifically requires 3000 psi high pressure washing (3000 psi is required to wash building awnings and exteriors or to strip paint) we recommend the “6.0 1750 psi” water pump. The 6.0 GPM pump is much better suited to run multiple carpet cleaning wands and hard surface tools than the 4.5 GPM 3000 psi pump. Most hard surface cleaning jobs require 1700 psi or less but at a higher flow rate. The Vortex 6.0 GPM version pump van easily handle simple pressure washing jobs such as driveways, decks or power washing your truck. The Vortex is also capable of re-claiming the wasted cleaning water spent onto the ground with it’s vacuum system. This gives pressure washers a unique advantage over their competition in arenas where strict laws or government contracts require the removal of spent cleaning fluids to avoid seepage.
Upholstery And Fine Fabric Cleaning
The process of cleaning synthetic upholstery fabrics is very similar to carpet cleaning. (Over 90% of upholstery cleaning is on synthetic textiles) Assuming that the operator has the proper education and chemistry training in in place, the more hot water and vacuum he has available, the better and faster he can clean. If you’re already running a cleaning business, you will find that the reduced amount of energy and labor you expend will easily justify the monthly payment on a Vortex. The Vortex can easily run 12 upholstery tools simultaneously for applications such as theaters and stadium seating. (However, this may require downsizing the jets on your upholstery tools to maintain cleaning temperatures above 200 degrees.) On specialty fabrics, The Vortex gives you simple-operation, fully adjustable heat from 100 to 250 degrees water temperature with a fully adjustable, digital temperature controller. The low=temp cleaning mode only requires turning off your radiator fluid heat exchanger and turning your Xentherm digital temperature controller to the lower desired temperature. This can also be achieved simply by starting the job with cold water in the fresh water storage tank and adjusting your Xentherm digital temperature controller to the lower desired temperature.
Disaster Restoration
Many large national disaster franchisees use Vortex machines for disaster cleanup and particularly water extraction in flooded structures. The Vortex is capable of extracting water from flood damaged structures with two operators simultaneously at lengths of up to 500′ each. The optional, powerful, automatic waste water pump out system allows you to extract water non-stop for hours on end by automatically pumping the extracted water from the waste water recovery tank into a safe disposal area such as a janitor’s closet or commode. Always dump your waste water responsibly and in accordance with your local regulations. The Vortex is not a “water pumping machine”. Carpet cleaning machine’s vacuum pumps require air flow in order to extract water. Standing water in a flooded structure requires the use of a free-standing sump pump. Heavy water extraction jobs require 300 foot or less of vacuum hose runs to accommodate dual wand extraction. The Vortex also has an immense amount of space to haul around carpet drying fans, de-humidification equipment, damaged contents or rolls of wet or dry carpet and pad.

How Does The Vortex Work?
The Vortex machine is powered from the truck’s diesel engine and the water used for cleaning is heated from the truck’s exhaust pipe. To operate the Vortex you simply leave the truck engine running with the transmission in park, engage the Vortex PTO (Power Take Off) from the Vortex instrument/control panel and adjust your cleaning settings. The Power Take Off is mounted to the truck’s automatic transmission and transfers the energy from the diesel engine to the vacuum pump, water pump and Xentherm fluid transfer pump via a series of shaft, belts, and pulleys.
